Who in the world am I? Ah, that’s the great puzzle.

―Lewis Carroll, Alice in Wonderland

About me

Thanks for dropping by! Around the Internet, I go by rayhem and it’s very nice to have you here. I’m a scientist by both temperament and training and I’ve since become a software engineer with a little skill in system design and math-heavy problems. I’ve got no shortage of guff on everything from hammocks to educational pedagogy, and I may also tend to ramble a bit.

What you’ll find here

I honestly don’t know! People tell me I have interesting thoughts and articulate them well, so I figured I could stand to write them down (mostly for my own clarity, but also as something of a preservative journal and maybe even an art piece).

A note on AI

I work in tech so it’s inevitable I’m going to be immersed in AI in many ways. As we cede more and more of our facultiess to the machine overlords, I think it’s going to be increasingly important to intentionally practice creativity to keep those skills sharp – hence this blog as a creative outlet for me. So here’s my promise to you, the readers: I might use an agent to tinker with the site layout or fix an Asymptote figure or something, but I’m going to strive to keep the content 100% human-generated, faults and all.
